How is this calculated?

We use upload, section, version and file-size patterns from our previous conferences as a baseline, then adjust the forecast to the limits you choose. A higher file limit increases the forecast, without assuming that every file reaches the maximum. The planning allocation is deliberately safer and is used for the 5 GB check. The final ZIP uses only the latest material in each section. Generated previews, download ZIPs and backups are tracked separately as operational overhead.
